It’s official – we’re one of the best places to work in the UK

A great year just got better as we’re proud to officially say we are one of the best companies to work for in the whole of the UK!

Not only that but we’re also the 2nd best Accountancy Practice to work for in the UK too, following the recent announcement of the latest Best Companies league tables.

The results are based on the feedback from the latest Best Companies survey, which measures employee satisfaction and engagement, and saw our team name us as an Outstanding place to work for a second consecutive year.

It’s the first time DJH Mitten Clarke has appeared in the league tables since merging and we completed a hat-trick of appearances by also being named in the Top 50 of companies to work for in the West Midlands.

Scott Heath, CEO, said “Our aim has always been to achieve a people-first approach and ensure our team remain our number one priority. We want to create the very best environment so that we can attract and retain the very best talent. It’s reassuring to know that we’re on the right track.

“Over the last year, we’ve invested in our culture, our offices and our training programme to create an environment where people can grow, develop and enjoy what they do. Which ultimately means they’ll deliver the best possible experience for our clients, and together, we’ll achieve our business goals.”

Since the last survey in 2021, we’ve seen the inaugural sessions of our internal training programmes; the Ambition Academy and the Leadership and Management Academy, along with the launch of our 24/7 mental health and wellbeing support platform via Spectrum Life.

James Beardmore, Chief Operating Officer, believes these have all helped play a part in achieving this year’s excellent Best Companies results.

“Last year’s survey proved invaluable as it not only told us what we were doing right but also provided us with feedback on how we could improve. The last 12 months have seen a huge investment throughout each office and we wanted to pay particular focus on what the team were looking for, as opposed to launching benefits that sound good but don’t actually get used.

“A comprehensive training programme, our hybrid working policy, and the roll-out of a full social and wellbeing calendar, are all things that came off the back of last year’s feedback. We’ll be rolling out similar actions again this year so that we can create an even better place to work for our team.

The awards are a great way to round off a fantastic year, which saw Bakers join the Group becoming our Walsall office, being crowned ‘Professional Service of the Year’ in the Staffordshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, named in the top three accountancy practices for Investing in People with Accountancy Excellence, and recently announcing our partnership with Tenzing.
